Yesterday I repaired a roof for a customer who had some missing shingles and as a result of those missing shingles had a leak. The damaged areas were patched with roofing cement which of course not only looks bad but will quickly fail making the roof leak again.
Many roofing companies will also try to sell you a new roof while your roof can simply be repaired up to spec such as for this customer. Keep in mind that although the exact same shingle was used to repair this home a brand new shingle will always be more saturated in color.
